Default Custom body work

I'm looking for someone that will do some custom work on my S2K.
I had a fender bender and since it is no longer in orginal condition I am exploring my options.
I am looking for a body person that can be trusted and has good skills.
Any suggestions would be great.

Welcome. Thinking about fixing or replacing with after market parts? Your options are endless.

Look here for some Body Shop information

8Ball,
Thanks for the advice and links.
My S was in a wreck a few weeks back the back bumper cover was torn off, tail lights, etc. The good thing (?) was I was hit behind the passanger tire so no axel/tire damage. I had the car towed to Schaffer's in Webster Groves, they have repaired a few cars for me and I have been happy with their work but the quote is high and they have a long wait list to get it in, plus the body guy said to expect about 10% overage charges. Funny thing is they won't adjust for less effort, just add for oversights. I don't think they are much into going out of their way to fool around with helping me work around getting the costs down on the repairs, using custom parts, and they want to use refurbished parts.
I think before I let them have the car or start ordering parts I better take the car to some of the body shops that you suggested.
Since I live in Webster I would be interested in more info on Shur-Way since they are close - have you heard anything that I should be aware of?
The insurance company totalled the car but I can't let it go - too much fun. I can drive it so taking it around to get additional bids shouldn't be an issue.
One thing I was toying with was buy another 2000 S2000 that is totalled and use it for parts and sell off what I don't need - I was curious if anyone had ever been through that and if it is worth the effort to differ the cost?
Thanks again for the info, it gives me a lot to think about and options from just going along with the first estimate.

Rod - You're second option seems best. Use the cash and buy another S. Because they Insurance Coompany totaled the car, it's best not to take on the headache to get it back to spec. Your taking the chance that the Body Shop can fix everything perfectly. Parting out is very time consuming and there will be a lot of parts that you'll not sell. You'll also need storage space and deal with finding buyers. Too much work for me.

Get several estimates. You'll be surprised at the difference in cost. Most Bodyshops do them for free

Unfortunatley, I totaled my S last year. I was toying with buying another S, but opted to buy a Cayman instead. I do miss the S, but also like what I drive in its's place.
