Damage to my S2000
Just thought that I would share a short not-to-interesting (no police, phone poles, or racing involved) story.
So, I use my S2000 as a DD and know that it is bound to pick up a fair amount of wear from this, but I was extremely upset with myself when, on Wednesday I got into my car at an office where I had just interviewed and noticed that there was a fairly large scrape and some paint missing from the left corner of my bumper. I park in a public garage (living in an apartment building in the city, not enough parking for everyone) and have to use a pass to get out, and figured that I must have pulled too close to the guard pole on the way out... which was funny because I had not heard or felt anything. I was really pissed at myself, though. So, I am thinking that this will be about $200 to fix and I really don't want to have to deal with it.
Well, I ran into a maintenance guy at my apartment who asked if I drove a small silver sports car; I told him that I did. Well, I had been borrowing a friend of mine's parking space in the building's garage while he was out of town and the people next to me had apparently scraped across the front of my car and I just did not notice. They were going to leave a note but when they returned my car was gone (back to the public lot) and it has not been back since. So, they told the building who gave me their phone number and they are paying for the damage, wherever I take it.
So, there are some people willing to take responsibility for their actions (and they actually worked to track me down) and I am an idiot for not only missing the damage to my car for at least a day or two but then automatically blaming myself.
By the way, does anyone have any experience with Shur Way Auto Body? My brother works for Enterprise and that is where they send their cars with really great results apparently (took bullet holes out of a Chrysler 300 and made it look new). Any general advice on the matter of body work?

It's nice to hear that there are still some people left that do the right thing
I've never heard of Shur Way Auto Body before (not that that's a bad thing), but I can recomend Greg's Car Care. We've used them several times and many others on this board have too with great results. Our S is silverstone as well and when we had our front bumper resprayed the paint match was perfect. In fact, we thought it was perfect before, but Gregory insisted that he could do better. They are located in St. Charles off of 94, just a few minutes away after crossing Boone bridge from th Chesterfield Valley.

It's wonderful to read/hear story such as this to enforce that there are still people out there that take responsibilities for their actions.
Greg's is the preferred shop for us, but may be a bit out of the way for you. I've heard good things about Shur Way, but have never had any experience with them. Your brother should also get a discount through them as the are an Enterprise Business Partner. I would go ahead and get an esitmate

Well, I stopped by Sure Way and they quoted $240 and a maximum of one day without the S. I need to check with the people that hit it (just want to make sure that that is ok by them... they were nice enough to track me down so I want to be polite in return).
8Ball, what do you do for Enterprise (OT I know, just curious)?

Ok, ok... back to topic, haha. Talked to the guy and he gave the go-ahead for getting it repaired; will take it in Monday morning and have it back good as new either that evening or Tuesday morning. It's nice not having a job... you have time to deal with this kind of stuff.
