Detail Day
I'm available Saturday if you want to move it. Just checked FedEx tracking and their site says my Rick's Header is on the truck out for delivery
So if no detail day on Saturday, I'm going to try to install it tomorrow. If anybody's bored and wants to help, let me know.
p.s. If you don't see me Sunday, then the header install didn't go so well and I'm patching the wrench holes in the drywall.

At this point I'm open both days now... I was going to bring the boxster since it was in dire need of some tlc but today I got bored and spent the afternoon making her look nice again. That Porsche paint is rediculous. The clear coat on it is really soft which makes things really hard. I think I'm going to focus on the interior of my S at the detail day. I hope to pull out my seats and all.

Hi Friends
I have a pretty busy schedule on Sunday and I would like to at least stop by on detail day in between my work schedule and family stuff to meet everyone. Please PM me directions. Thanks.

Okay all,
Purchased a Mothers claybar kit - should be good for four-plus cars (one must be mine - after that we'll arm-wrestle
).
I will bring...
-2 packs of new microfiber towels
-303 spray bottle (refilled thanks to 8BALL!)
-Meguiare's Plastx (I will give this to anyone without a glass rear window - first-come-first-serve)
-ArmorAll leather protectant
-ArmorAll protectant - big spray jug
-California water blade
-ShinEtsu grease for rubber stuff
-Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish
-Meguiar's vinyl & rubber care
-My absolute favorite wax -- Meguiar's clear coat paste
-Applicator pads
-and a 11" super-duper Craftsman wax applicator/buffer, gauranteed to numb your arms!
And some kind of fresh-baked goodness yet to be determined

Weather outlook for tomorrow - Perfect!!!
Looks like we are going to have a nice group. Attending are:
jimmij
rehile
Hondassport
Folex187
8ball
Jrod
rpstl (maybe)
accuraman (maybe)
That's 8 cars... Based on what people are bringing and have talked about, the level of detail that will occur on each car will take hours.
Figure:
2 people/car = max 4 cars at once
wash/dry - 30 min
claybar - 45 min
wax/polish - 1 hr - 2 hr based on level of detail
interior detail- 30 min - 1 hr based on level of detail
exterior detail - 30 min - 1 hr based on level of detail
roof/rear window - 30 min - 1 hr based on MYxx
wax wheels - 1 hour
grease rubber - 15 minutes
So average about 4-5 hrs/4 cars * next set of 4 cars (2) = 8-10 hours
This does not include: set-up, pick-up, break time, lunch, "get-to-know-you" time....you get the idea. Look to spend the entire day!
So... I'm doing most/all of mine today and some minor items tomorrow. This will give us a spare set of hands for tomorrow (and one less car). If you want, call me or just drop by today (after 1:00) and we can do yours too!

I will be there and will bring my Porter Cable polisher. I'll probaby just help and do my car another day, unless we have some no shows as I'll have to leave early for some catch up at work
.
Mike and Pete stopped over today and helped me install my new Rick's header
Thanks guys. It would have been a long, long day without the help. I left my impressions on the Talk forum if you care to read them.
See you all tomorrow.

Washed, dried, claybared, polished, waxed, and sealed this afternoon. Will only need to do roof, windows, plastic lenses and interior.
So this should work out pretty well.
