Driving events at Gateway
If any one is doing this or interested in doing this please let me know.
I have done trackdays on the motorcycle, but I have yet to do any with the s2000.
I am also interested in autocross.
I might be quicker to get into this if someone else joins me.
I'm really a noob when it comes to the car.
Thanks Rehile for posting the link.

I should be out there instructing with the SCCA most days this year. Let me know if you have any questions about track days and I'll try to answer them. Keith and Greg (hydrecyl) are also instructors at Gateway with different organizations and Nick (SlipAngle79) has a lot of experience in street cars out there and should be able to help you out.
Come on out, it's what the S2000 was meant to do!

Like what David said...
And just to add, there are currently more track people on the HACSTL.com forum than this one... here is a compiled list of the track events around the Gateway area -> http://www.hacstl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61909
Hopefully we'll see more S2000 people out on the track.

I am looking forward to getting more involved this year as well, hopefully there will be a crew. SCCA rules require an OEM hardtop, does anyone know what the Porsche, BMW, etc. club rules are?
I don't believe STL SCCA requires anything for convertibles. In fact, there is a rule that requires the factory soft top to be down, leading me to believe they specifically allow convertibles. I do usually run my mugen-style hardtop with them, but I know people that have run top down in the S2000. Where did you hear about the hardtop?
Porsche will let you run, however they require the top to be up. They will limit you to the beginner and intermediate groups, though. If its for your first few track days, that's ok, that's where you should start anyway.
BMW will not let you run, soft top or hard. Maybe they would with a roll bar and hard top, but I don't even know about that for sure. They are not convertible friendly.
For non-St. Louis, but Midwest events:
NASA let's you run anything.
MVP Track Time, last I checked with them, allowed you to also run whatever.
Redline Time Attack lets you run anything.
Sometimes specific tracks override these rules, requiring more protection, but I don't know of any in the Midwest.

If you opt to go beyond the confines of Gateway, feel free to join us (www.MVPTrackTime.com) at any of our track events. You can run at several of our track events (Putnam Park, Autobhan Country Club, Blackhawk Farms, etc.) without any additional roll over protection, although we highly sugest you consider a roll bar.
The St. Louis Porsche and BMW clubs are running several times each at Gateway in 2009. Both clubs have very well run events.

Nick and I both did an event with MVP track time. We got a lot of track time for a good price and it was very low pressure, just a bunch of people hanging out and driving. I'd recommend MVP for those that have some experience under their belt and want to try some different tracks.
