sorry to hear.

found this on torque dampeners -
some happy - some not - thread
In the thread, it looks like the J's version also has fitment issues.
Be sure to read THIS POST, if you want to get the most 'bang for your buck'

edit - be sure to read further in the above thread - there appears to be 'other ways'...

Yeah, I considered one of these but after a little research Idetermined that they don't really do anything, or rather my car will be fine wothout one. I think it is another "dress-up" piece for the engine bay, sorry to hear about the install problem with it

He's right. So is the front strut tower bar. I would recommend selling both of your "quality" items and pocketing the cash.

i realize they are not the most awesome upgrade and i did purchase them for more or less a look. But if you do read the thread on the torque damper some people really did say that they noticed a difference and if the ETD is set right it can help to prevent powerloss and also help save your engine mounts. The strut tower bar alone does nothing most likely true but combined with the front lower X brace, and rear brace bar im sure that it will help stiffen up the car.

Unfortunately, you'd be wrong. Not your fault obviously, you've been misled by the companies selling these things. I've gone over the physics of a strut tower bar in the R&C forums if you want to read about it:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...post&p=10593977
(This thread is also linked from the R&C FAQ under Strut Tower Bars).

Don't get me wrong, you can buy whatever mods you want (your money, your car). I'm just trying to inform you what the actual benefits are. In the case of any bolt brace for the S2000, it's looks, not performance. If that's worth it to you then you're set. If part of the value for you was the expected performance then I would again suggest selling the parts.
