So I got the car back from honda last night. I had them take off the valve cover and check all the springs and other parts in the top end. They gave it a clean bill of health. They also cleaned up most of the oil, but I still can smell it burning when the car is stopped. After everything was done and said Jiffy Lube paid 500 for the engine check, 100 for flatbed to honda, and 75 refunded for my oil change.... They are sending me paperwork this week to sign documenting my problems, and I am going to have a lawyor look over the paperwork before signing. Todd the District manager apologized profusely for the mistake which i accepted, but in the long run I will NEVER take any car to them again. I will still have to spend a couple of hours on a lift (hint hint jimmij) cleaning the underneath of the car because it reaks of burnt oil, and the next couple of years worring if there was something damaged that was not caught by honda.

I sent jimmij some of the pics so hopefully he can post them up.

What kind of oil change do you get for 75 bucks?

A very bad one by the sounds of it...

So what's the story: did they leave the fill cap off, or the drain bolt un-tightened/torqued???
