Had it drop out of 5th this morning, just after a change... thought it was home, but obviously not quite

Also, are valve clearance & injector 'rattles' normal as it's coming off choke when it's this cold?

I let my S warm up a good bit before pulling away this morning, but 5 minutes up the road as it's coming off the choke the engine sounded quite tappety & rattley ... first/only time it has done anything like, & very disconcerting

The oil was changed only a couple of months & less than a 1000 miles ago so that shouldn't be it... it was fine after it warmed up a bit more

Does not seem normal to me.

I have noticed (as several others have) that some gas stations have dropped their "premium grade" to 91.. It sounds like you may have filled up with 91 and it could be causing you some engine knock. Keep a watchful eye out for this and try to fill up with 93 octane all of the time.

Agreed. Read pump before you dispense!

There's plenty-o-posts, though, about the gear selector popping out on AP1s. I don't think this is common to AP2s.

Dan... not to sound to harsh to our newbies, but let the search engine be your friend. There is an overwhelming amount of information out there, we just need to teach you how to find it.

Happy Reading! BTW... You have an AP1

Oh... And before you ask, we also have an FAQ section pinned in our comunity, read this link as well as it may answer some other questions.

I have been keeping a watchful eye out for 93 octane at pumps last couple of days have not seen anything but 91 and couple with 92 octane.
And Honda recommends using Top Tier Gas because they don't us additives in there gasoline, that contain manganese-based fuel additives such as MMT.

Hey why not start a thread sighting stations with 93 and 92 octane. I called just a few. One station didn't even know what they had.

93 octane
Mobil Country Club Car Wash
2999 Highway K
Highway K & Highway N

93 octane
Mobil On The Run
6280 Mid Rivers @ Hwy. 94

My apologies Doug, did not mean to call you Dan. I'm really bad with names.

Feel free to harass me any time if that happens again.

Shell V-Power is 93 - preferred diet for my S ... I don't think it was engine knock.
