Default Front License Plate

I know the majority of us leave it off, but was wondering if the police harass any of you. I left mine off for three years with no problem, but then was ticketed 3 times in 3 months in Maryland Heights (West Port Plaza area) for not having it on about 1 year ago. My office moved to Creve Couer so I took it off again today.

Rehile, I know you work out of Creve Couer do they ever bother you? How is St. Peter's/St. Chuck. Anyone have any experiences?

By the way Maryland Heights will actually pull you over for not having a plate. It is a $50 fine, but if you put the plate on before you go to pay the fine they will knock it down to $25...this happened all 3 times with me. I would have to assume that other cities may have a similar policy...so always replace before you pay the fine.

Really? I live in Maryland Heights/Creve Coeur area (next to Westport) and haven't had a problem yet <knock on wood>. What color is your S2K stlvtec? Maybe I've seen you around.

plate-less going on two years - no problems. I drive HWY70 mostly. Have paced state patrol and local police many times without a problem (so far). I typically don't drive the car weekend evenings -- maybe that has some to do with it (?).

Silverstone ap2 with OEM front lip, side strakes, and spoiler. I doubt you have seen me. I never see GPW's!

Another girl I work with has been ticketed also. She drives an SS camaro.

Before Kansas law was changed recently, vanity plates were required on the front if you had one. I never had one on the front in three years, never got harassed....but, if I did, I was prepared to display it in the windshield. I am not sure if that would work for you Missouri folks that are required to have a front plate whether it is a vanity one or not.

I've seen people put it in the grill, that's pretty lame that a cop would pull you over just for that.
