Gateway Fall Run & Picnic
GATEWAY FALL RUN & PICNIC
Gateway Group - It's time to put a fall color run together as the foliage colors will be at their best in Mid-October.
Date: Saturday October 15th (alternate Sunday 10/16 if raining)
Time: 8:00 am
Meeting Place: 94 & 40 Park & Ride (West Lot)
I expect this run to last most of the day. I'm going to try and have you back home around 5:00pm. It's approximatley 280 miles of spectacular windies and twisties in central Missouri focused mostly on driving through Mark Twain National Forest. Mark Twain National forest has many Picnic areas some which accomidate groups up to 75 cars. Before researching where to stop and have lunch, I need to get a better head/car count. Everyone bring a cooler with your Lunch & Beverages
This area has it's best foliage colors mid-October. By late October the colors begin to fade and are no where as breath tacking.
This Map outline the route. Blue represents the route there and green the route back. The actual stopping points will be outlined in more detail later.

also...Mike, is there a gas station directly along this route that has 93 octane?
Nothing like a little pressure to Diz
As far as 93 Octane.. Nope. The best we have found down in that area is 89. I'll take a closer look , but doubt I'll find anything better. Best top it off before we leave. There is a Shell station about 1 mile north on 94 from where we are meeting that will be your best bet.
Anyone else interested? If the weather is like today, we'll not be able to ask for much more than that.

I think for this reason we should changed the meet up spot to Diz's house so that we guilt him in to going if need be.
