Can anyone recommend a reputable detail shop? The previous owner of this car put a lot of swirl marks in the paint and I would like to have them buffed out. I've never used a high speed buffer and don't want to possibly damage my paint so I'd like to take it somewhere. Should I just take it to the dealership?
I would NOT trust any detail shop or dealership in the area. You'll be paying between $150-$300. Come to one of our detail days and be amazed. We do far better than what any detail shop will/can do for a limited cost. Because of the cooler temps, we will probably not have another detail day until March/April.
Some of us do have heated garages and would be willing to assist Gateway newbies
Here are some results of past detail days. All pictures are reflections.
Talk to me about it on Pizza night Thursday (if you can make it) and go from there.
We don't really use a Detail shop in this group so i don't have one to recommend, but if you PM me your phone number #, or i can send mine, I may be able to help you...
If you can wait 'til March/April for a club detail day, there are a few guys that are good with buffing up paintwork - come to a pizza night* & talk to 8BALL/Mike about the Menzerna 3 step
I wish i could make it to the pizza thing, but i have the same problem, a BB with terrible paint and swirls... i havent had the time to properly detail it or to even begin to research how to detail it. im def there at the next detail day if im in town.
A&G Mobile Detailing and Detail by Design are both excellent shops! In January, the Audi Club is having a winter detailing clinic with Saul from A&G Mobile Detailing at JML Audio (indoors and heated). You guys are welcomed to attend! Keep an eye on STLAudiclub.com for information. We should have a post up in the next few days.
