I'm gonna rant about this here... I want to post a thread in one of the general sections but I think I'd make alot of enemies....

What's with some of these S2k owners buying a bunch of CF body parts and leaving them unpainted!? It drives me nuts... a hood I can understand... but doors, quarter panels, etc. I think it looks absolutely retarded when half of the car is CF and it's left unpainted. This, to me, is rice.

Also... roll cages in cars that aren't tracked, raced, or even autox'ed...

RICE!

The same people guilty of these atrocities will also accuse others of rice because they paint their interior pieces, etc. For me, I think anything that lacks taste, design, class, and function is pretty rice...

Glad that I got that off my chest!

I agree! A little cf goes a long way.. I myself plan on a hood and a trunk and thats it! I think that cf doors and fenders and everything ARE a good idea, of course it lightens your car up quite a bit, but seriously PAINT IT. Its not just carbon fiber though. Any aftermarket fender, or bodykit or whatever... people run around st charles county with unpainted fiberglass kits... YEA that looks cool!!!! My friend nathan and I vowed we would start our own car club: Atleast my sh!ts painted motorsports. lol

The unpainted body kits are definitely rice... so what makes unpainted CF any different?

lol - nice rant guys.

Best example (IMO)
roll cages in cars that aren't tracked, raced, or even autox'ed...
That said, some folks like th CF weave look, and may wish to leave it 'as is' ... kind of badge in itself. For the fiberglass body kit people, I always thought the unfinished look was 'a work in progress' thing (?)

Cell phone incident again:

Prick in a white Ford Explorer gabbing on the phone today. Heavy traffic. Rush hour on West I-70. I've got probably 6 car lengths between me and the next (fast lane near the Mid Rivers exit) going maybe 45-50 mph. I tap the brakes to warn, then brake smoothly to a stop - same as everyone in front of me.

The jerk behind me in the SUV tosses his phone and slams on the brakes. He swerved, but did not skid. My heart rate jumped a few notches up while I watched the rear veiw mirror (maybe like 220 bpm!)

I got over to the next lane after we got going again. I saw the guy pick up his phone, wave his arms around like he had an audience, then do the same thing again to the next person in line. What a jerk.

Good grief

I dont understand that tho.. The bodykit has to be taken off to paint it (if you arent half assing it)... So why would you go out of your way to put the time into putting it on, when you are just going to have to pull it off to have it painted?
