Default Headunit

Whats going on guys, basically im looking for your guys opinions and suggestions on a head unit.. ive narrowed it down to 2. Its btwn the Alpine iDA-x100 or the JVC El Kameleon KD-AVX44. I am a huge alpine fan, but i figure why not try something new and try the JVC. I started looking at Eclipse, Pioneer, and Kenwood. But nuthin really got my attention. Now with the JVC i kno i will have to do a custom install. I think from what i read they said the sleeve doesnt fit properly and you cant use screws to hold it in place? I might be wrong, but i know you have to do sum fab. work.

A head unit is like 'one brain' or is that some sexual device thingy?

LOL - I still have the stock radio :-/

Go with the Alpine all the way if your serious about your music and plan to use an Ipod. I have the iDA-X001 and have nothing but great things to say about it. I think PKTCHGE has an X001 too.

What are CD's?

Here are some pics of the X001 installed.

I would go with Alpine as well. Are you thinking about a speaker upgrade as well? Amp? Sub? I would also upgrade the speakers at the same time to get the best bang for the buck out of your new HU

Thanks. Most in our group have pretty much the same knowledge and skill.

I'll lend a hand where I can with the install
