It would be nice to see the pictures of the elements being installed. Did you have the help of a Helms manual to take everything apart?

No helms manual to help. That may just be my next upgrade.
Unfortunately the two things I didn't take pics of was the elments by themselves and once applied to the foam pad. I put all blame on the hog rings, did I mention they suck?

Hog rings =

This should be standard on the S. Thanks for the install pics and tips. I am planning for this upgrade before next winter!
Only $180 shipped for everthing isn't to bad.

I'll gladly lend a hand.

When the time comes be sure to let me know before you start. I have more advice not mentioned in the post.

Now if I could just find somewhere to try vinison chilie... I wonder if the heated seats could get hot enough to ignite the "exhaust fumes"?

The instructions listed the time as 2-5 minutes and on my butt dyno I would have to agree. At two minutes I start to notice the warmth and about three minutes later I'm enjoying full heat action. When set on high these things get nice and toasty.

The only thing I can't do (and don't do anyway) is warm up the car in the morning for about ten minutes before I get in. The seat heaters don't activate until the seat is occupied. The ones I purchased have a pressure sensor in the bottom pad that prevents juice being sent to the heating elements even though the switch is set to high or low heat. In my situation, I'm not sure I like this feature as I wired my power supply to the accessory outlet so when the key is out of the ignition all power is cut to the accessory outlet and the heating elements can't be accidentally left on. I think the pressure sensor was designed for people who have them powered directly off the battery that way if the switch is left on after you leave the vehicle the heating elements shut down automatically and you don't have a dead battery next time you try to start the car.

The bottom elements also have a built in thermometer. If the temp were to rise above 110 they automatically turn off as well. I should also note that the pressure sensor and thermometer are unobtrusive meaning I can't feel them through the leather.

Told the wife - she's totally amenable to ordering 4 (!)

Two for me, two for her.

Now waiting until the next credit card cycle to begin...

I wonder if the company would do a group buy? Sounds like there is a lot of interest....just a thought.

There did appear to be a discount possibility with a large order - but it looked like you had to be a dealer (?)
