Default Local Street Encounters

First - street racing is wrong & illegal.

If you exceed the posted speed limit for just a couple seconds, perhaps you may not get caught (for a while). That being said, I do not condone crazy behavior or reckless driving...

A few days ago, I was in a hurry and launched when the stop light turned green. I guess the Mustang GT with several aftermarket parts heard the exhaust a few cars behind in the next lane. Anyway, it was that once-a-year happen-stance where the next light turns red, and both cars stop at the head-of-the-line. It was a young lady with a guy-friend in the passenger seat. There was no indication (revs) during the red light that they had any interest in this S. When the light turned green, we left gently. A few yards further, she really laid into it. I was still in first, took it to redline, then made a near perfect shift to second. Because they took "first blood" I was only able to keep pace. When second gear was near the limit, they backed off (hey we were at the posted speed limit or so...)

Honked & waved to each other. Great fun. Geez, these cars are fast.

Drive safe.

Thanks rpstl - it was fun holding with a modded 8-cylinder "home-grown" with the S.

Well, I had a run in with a decently modded Integra Type R. I barely pulled on him thru 4th, and after that proceded to walk him. His car was pretty quick. Dunno what he had, as he wouldn't stop.....his car definitely made some interesting noises.

ran into a new yellow dodge viper on brentwood blvd heading south tonight. as soon as i saw him in the left lane, i raced up behind him to check his car out. i think that got his attention and he gunned his engine a few times... damn, i love the sound of that v10 rumble. he went left at manchester though and i had to go right... wish this encounter was on a deserted highway.. would have been fun to try and follow him...
