May have found an "odd" S2K replacement
I called Hardtopguy to talk about a new crank pulley and he indicated that his dealership had (2) 2004 S2000's hanging around - both of which are still new!
I'm going to try and work things out with them financially, but if they can give me a large enough discount, this may be what I need to bridge the new/used cost gap. I like the concept of buying "new" even though the car is older. A full 3 year warranty is a great thing.
With any luck, one of these S2000s (which have 43 or 70 miles on them) will be heading to STL just after the first of the year (yee ha, avoid that excise tax!).

Some works, other stuff doesn't. The SC is the thing I worry about most, and Hardtopguy says that it's just a pulley change. Hoping for the best really.
As for the drive, you have a good point - one I hadn't really considered either. The car is in Cleveland, which is obviously basking in the warmth these days. Jeff said they have a foot of snow on the ground right now.

The two low mileage 04s suddenly dissapeared. One "sold" and the other magically inherited an additional 800 miles overnight. Trying to work something out still, but I don't have a lot of hope left at this point.

Downpayment made, car to be purchased 1/2/06.
2004 Silverstone S2000 with Black interior. MSRP $32800, total vehicle price of $33290, invoice of $29995.20 - with 280 miles on it (new and untitled). Total out the door price: $26670.50 including all fees and a temporary plate.
Supposedly, the other buyer's financing fell through. Yeah, right. This car made a good bridge (for me at least) between a brand new one with stability control and another used 2.0L model.
I held off on the hard top purchase though. I can always buy one later if I need one I suppose. Besides, they weren't going to be able to have the top installed before my arrival since they just ordered tops yesterday.
I left my current (wrecked) car in the driveway this morning with a bogus car cover over it. I couldn't get the hood to latch after I opened it, so there's definitely something misaligned in there. The 04 rim on the rear that was damaged in the collision is in bad shape. I need to see if it runs true in order to figure out if I can save it.
