Default New to the area, new to the S2000

Hello all. This past weekend I picked up a new 07 MY Rio Yellow, ending my days as a M3 owner (too many problems, great fun car, just problems, plus I was too used to driving it in Germany at 100+ MPH). The S seems to handle a little bit better, but then again, I haven't pushed it since I'm still going through break-in and the weather isn't cooperating with me in getting the break-in completed

Since I'm new to the area, was wondering if I could get some hints on good drives to take in the area (I'm in O'Falon, IL). On ramps are fun, but one can only have a limited amount of fun on those if you know what I mean. Any hints/advice will be greatly appreciated!

Glad you found us... Welcome...

Central Missouri has some of the best roads in the US. As Hondassport indicated, Rt 94 is a nice drive. If you want something longer, check out these threads.

Nov 2007 Day Trip

Fall MOM 07

Also check out SR 19... It's a wonderful road

Hope that helps

Welcome!

I'm also from O'Fallon IL. There is another gateway member from O'Fallon IL too. I take it you work out at Scott? I'm still pretty new to the S and the gateway community as well.

I know of a few good country roads within a few miles of town but unfortunately the good parts only last 3 or 4 miles. Let me know if you want to meet up sometime and I'd be happy to show you around. Its hard to explain how to get there. Bowler Rd is a pretty sweet road on the edge of town that goes through the woods. It's only about two miles of good driving but has some wicked curves and elevation changes. Its nothing to brag about but its 4 minutes of quality time well spent in the S. I'll try to put a link to a Google map with some markers of some other roads to show you. I am sure James (PktChge), the other owner from O'Fallon IL, would be up for a drive too.

Take a drive across the river and hit up some Missouri roads like the ones listed above. You won't be disappointed.

Check out the calander and make it out to a couple events if you can. I made the last two monthly get togethers out at Stefanina's in OFallon MO. We can easily make it from O'Fallon IL to MO in 48 minutes. Mapquest doesn't take into account that we drive an S2K.

Anyway, Welcome again. I'm sure i'll see you around soon. Us Rios are easy to spot from far away.
