I remember seeing them a few years back, and they were originally designed for off-road, and heavy equipment vehicles like skid-loaders (bobcats), forklifts, and other small yard/farm tractors.

I too saw those in a popular mechanics magazine (or something like that) several years ago. The idea behind them for cars was 'never-go-flat'. The article I read said they were still having issues with the tread flying off at high speeds. Guess they fixed that.

i duno i think it would be kinda hard for a tire like that to become popular, because i would think it would destroy the ride quality.
