Has anyone purchased a "snorkle" off e-bay? How is the fit / finish? Only $50.

You are talking about the fiberglass one? I'm thinking about getting the kevlar carbon one. I've heard good things about the replica one on ebay... the only negative thing I've heard was that there is excessive sealant used to keep the two piece together.

I've read that removing the air box sounds a bit like a CAI, and that's Free!

The photo's on e-bay don't show sealant but if I was selling I wouldn't show it either.

It sounds pretty neat, but you lose about 8 hp and 9 ft-lbs of torque.

Yeah, I've never had good experiences with "cold air" intakes on any of my cars. My opinion: the factory spent alot more time and money designing an efficient induction system the is manufactured specificaly for the car. It is only when I look at the really pricey systems like J's racing intake that I would actually believe you could get more power. I do like the way the AEM's sound though.

somewhat.

I'm willing to even give up a few ponies to hear the roar of the engine.
