Question...
So I took the S out today to go to the car show at Fastlane and on my way back when I had the A/C on my car would cut out at 6 grand. When I turned the A/C off sometimes the VTEC would kick on sometimes it wouldn't. I've never had this happen before has anyone else encountered this situation? I'm wondering if my car is just pissed at me for the run to Herman...
Also the car was up to temperature when I was trying to get into VTEC, the engine was "up to the task".
Thoughts?

Sounds like the v-tec control valve has a dirty filter. It is located within the gasket where it attatches to the head. If it is- very easy fix. How many miles are on your car? I dont have access to a parts catalog at the moment but I can get you a price/part# later today.
Sorry about the delay.
Part# 15825-PCX-015. Retail is $12.63
I double checked with two technicians yesterday and they both said this was the most likely cause 'but without diagnosing...'.
This is the cheapest place to start and is a common problem with older v-tec engines. Let me know how it goes.

So I got my part, I took out the 3 bolts to the Vtec solenoid, replaced the filter, put the three bolts back in, took it on a joyride and.......................the S2000 is alive and well!
Thank you mpetus for the insight! Now I am going to have a beer
