Hi All:

If you opt to skip Time Attack at Gateway, we have just over six weeks until our June 2nd track day at Autobahn Country Club

I'll probably be out there Friday to participate (in the Prelude) but only taking pictures on Saturday/Sunday.

Would you guys recommend this over the PDX? I can do either, but can't do both. Sounds like there is much more interest in this one. Also, is everyone doing the 2 day or 3 day?

I've been to Hallet once, and autocrossed quite a few times. Are you saying that the PDX (specifically one of the Wednesday ones) would be better than the Time Attack? I'm not super competitive, I just want to get some good track time and have some fun.

Yeah, go to the PDX. They should have instructors there that will help you learn the track and how to go quicker in general. They should also break you out into different skill groups, so you are running with other cars you feel comfortable with.

Redline is an actual competition. There will be no one there to instruct you and you will be out on the track with people who are going to want you out of their way so they can qualify on Saturday and run their hot laps on Sunday. Even Friday is test and tune, and there will be big horsepower, shop sponsored cars out there trying to get their setups down. It's not a good place to be if you aren't comfortable with the track and driving by yourself.

The PDX should be much more friendly, though I obviously can't comment specifically on the Wednesday night ones since they've never run one.

i have been to all of redlines events on the east coast and if you sign up for sat and sun, even as a beginner you should be fine. on saturday there will be instructors to go out with you and you will be on the track with the beginners group, on sunday you will get a few practice laps in before the time attack starts. by then you should be ready to try the time attack competition. the only problem i see in this event is it is being shared with nopi drift..... and that may cut down on some of the track time....that being said, like what formularedline said it may be better for a beginner to sign up for fri and sat...................but hell if you want to compete in the timeattack i think you will be fine.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll go the the PDX and if I'm still fiending for some track time I'll sign up for the Time Attack as well. I'll also be more comfortable for the Time Attack after a recent PDX, if I decide to do both.
