Had to take my father-in law to the eye dr today at 9:30 am, so-2s and snow don't mix, this car will not be driven in the snow again unless it's a emergency and next winter will have a beater for daily driving. The plight of a daily driver
Anybody else have to take theirs out?
Not me. Got the junker Bronco in the driveway. It's old, rusty, and has "character", but for 800 bucks, you can't beat it. I expected a light dusting today, but went outside and had 4-5 inches in the yard. My S has bald Goodyear F1's on the back.....its not goin anywhere.
Picked up an Explorer for this winter...
Same deal, old beat, and needs some love, but for trading a BBK TB and an Edelbrock manifold, what more can you ask for? A DD for right at $500
Sorry you had to take the S out in this... So many people are happy to have their S for the snow, not I said the Spa man.
Here is mine currently:
MY01 does not go out in the cold, rain and no way in the snow. Been driving the beater for about 2 weeks straight. Do love the front wheel drive of the Saturn.
Sorry you had to take the S out, Pete. Had a Dr. appointment myself at 2:00 and saw 7 wrecks. An SUV almost jumped the center median in one. SUV drivers think they are infallible in snow
Looking for anything in perticular? we have 5-7 cars on our Bulletin Board at work that may be worth your while to look at.

Yes I am waiting for my Daughter-in-law to realize that the 97 2-door integra she is driving is not going to work well with the Grandchild she is about to deliver, she has owned it since new and only 86k miles on it. Should make a great beater. and i should be able to get a good deal since we financed one of the owners for the first 21yrs of his life . Yeah right.
Pete
I tried driving the S2K a little bit around my neighborhood just to see how it would handle, and I could not control it worth crap because I have a) little experience driving in snow, b) summer tires in the S2K, c) little experience driving RWD's. I figure I don't want to kill myself or others, so the S2K stays parked for a little while Plus there's no way I want to put my baby through the torture of salty roads!
So in the meantime, I'll be driving my FWD Nissan Sentra just to be safe.
I may, however, take the S2K for some drifting goodness at an empty parking lot
I was out and about in my beater Bronco yesterday and the rear brakes decided they would just stop working in traffic. I didn't hit anyone (thanks to an empty lane beside me), but it looks like the beater is out for a while.

does this mean you're driving the S? Heard there's rain/snow predicted for Wednesday & Thursday this week...
