Default Ultra Shield Clear Bra

Dan (Deepblue) has acted on our request to see if we have enough of an interest to get a Group Buy for a install of a Clear Bra on your S (or other vehicle).

We need 8-10 people to comit to get this group rate. The rate also includes some extras. If interested, keep reading for additional info.

I would be definately interested in this product and going in on the group purchase. I am a regular lurker due to distance (I live on the IL side of the river).

I'm guessing a major detailing of the outside of the S would be necessary, including repair of existing paint chips, etc., prior to application?

Does this product need to be applied directly to clear coat or will it work with a variety of wax and other coatings?

Where I would be most concerned about adhesion is the bottom of my front bumper. It's an area that's been roughed up a time or two (along with what appears to be a gash). But I guess if it's sanded down or something it would likely be a non-issue.

Would application be by appointment? It's a bit hard to drive to MO and leave a car for a few days.

I just had it put on MY07 and he did a perfect job.
YOU asked about chips - as for as chips it doesn't not hides defects it may look better if you repaired them first. The wax will be removed in the areas it is applied to he cleans and clays the area first. As far as gashes??? I don't yet know if it is appointment yet, I would think so but he is very accommodating I've attached a website you can e-mail Mark for more detailed questions Ultrshield St. Louis contact Mark at mark@ultrashieldofstl.com .

This my give more detail as Mark of Ultrashield sent me some answers in an e-mail, to the above questions and even suggested an event day, he has worked with other clubs before.

Dan,

The answers:

Most small rock chips / road rush will become invisible under the film. Other bigger chips will still exist, and be as visible as before. I would recommend either touching them up (if there are a lot of them) or bringing some touch up paint and I will do the touch up.

All waxes will be removed to the clear coat, I will do all the prep work.

When it comes to scretches on the bottom of the bumper, it should not be a problem unless they are very major. Otherwise, it will adhere. They will be as visible as before the installation. You can do some wet sending, just be carefull not to cause bigger damage than what you already have.

The applications would be on appoitment basis. The installation takes about 2.5-3 hours per car depending on the prep work. I can work on two cars at a time. So, we could make it like a weekend event. Weekend would probably work best for most for scheduling and we could possibly incorporate an S2000 get together into it. Other members could come out and hang out together, possible do other small mods (weather permitting). I have enough room for 2 cars inside, so other mods would have to be done outside and the space outside is not a problem. The work could be performed as one waits and if more members would be around, the wait would be even more entertaining. This way it would also be easy for out-of-towners.

Thank you for posting the information.

Kind regards,

Mark Parafiniuk
