Default Valve Cover

So I am thinking about getting some things in my engine bay power coated. One of those thing is the valve cover. I am wondering if anyone has taken it off before, how difficult it is, and if there is a "how to" somewhere on the boards. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

It's not difficult at all to take it off, but putting it back on might be a little challenging. The biggest problem I had was with the clearance at the back of the engine bay. I only had to remove a couple screws, hoses, and line retainers (zip ties) to get the job done. If I remember correctly there were 5 main screws and 4 ignition screws that connected the cover to the head. Remove those and it will be free to move.

I will scrounge up some pics this evening and pm them to you if you want. I tried to take pictures of every step of my engine removal, so putting it back in would be much easier.

any time i search for valve anything, the only thing i seem to get is with the j's valve cover. even in the diy section.

as far as quotes, this is what he quoted me and here is his site.

$95 for the valve cover (red portion only)
$45 for the insert if you want it coated (the portion with the lettering)
$35 for the heat shield
$50 for the CAI

That does not include disassembly or installation, that would be $50 an
hour via me, or you can bring the parts in loose.

The site is http://www.jmbperformance.com/store/ and you can see all of the colors that he can provide.
