Thumbs up Weirdness - Radio Playing Up

Drove the car today for the first time in a few weeks - top down @ 31F

Weird thing - aside from the looks - was that the head-unit/radio refused to work, no display, sound, nothing... it did successfully eject the CD that was in there though (but wouldn't play)

I'm hoping it's just the fuse & will replace that later today, but I'm surprised that the radio doesn't work although the CD eject does... Additional weirdness is that the head-unit won't take a CD if I try to put one in

Does this sound like it is the fuse? Weird that eject works, but the rest of the radio/head-unit, or Mute light, doesn't...

All other electrics work. Thanks in advance

I don't think it would be the fuse since it ejects. I think it was just mad at you for driving top down at 31 It's in hibernation. I hope it all gets cleared up

It's been a while since I've had a stock radio, but seem to remember that the radio ejected the CD even with the car off/radio off. Can't be 100% certain though.

Is your radio stock? Are you running an amp?

This is true. I assume it's still got power from the car when it does this though, so I don't know about the fuse.

Maybe the power button is broken? Did it respond at all to the dash controls?

No, but then the dash controls don't normally work if the hu is off ... & it won't power on.

Curiously the security light still flashes away in the top right corner of the head unit, & it 'backlights' when I turn the lights on - but otherwise it's dead...

I'll try swapping the fuse because it's simple, but I'm expecting to have to book it into Napletons for a warranty fix

Graham... Still don't have enough information, but would recommend doing the following:

1) Check Radio Fuse and Acc fuse. The culprit is usually the accessory fuse, (No 5). The radio fuse is (No 19). Also check the "back up" (No 16) It's a 7.5 amp fuse..Even though marked "back up" it powers something (maybe hand controls) as this fuse has blown in some threads.
2) Plug something into the Acc plug. Does it work?
3) Check power supply at radio and Accessories plug, both must be working. If you need a meter, I have one.
4) If #1, #2 & #3 OK, replace fuse #16
5) Let me know what happens

Hang on... I have a few more things to try. See my post above. If this does not work, I have a couple of other things I like to check.
