Default Window Tinting

So I know some of you have the windows on your S tinted. Well, while cleaning in my room, I found a new box of extra large size Limo Dark window tint. I guess it's from when I did the windows on my Cavalier. Anyway, does anybody know the new laws on window tint? I remember that you could only have the back windows tinted, couldn't have any of the front windows tinted or it could be very light. This is 20% film, so I'm not sure if that is going to be illegal or not. What tint does everyone have and have you been ticketed or bothered by law enforcement about it?

illegal. i have 20% on my front and on the rear on my hardtop. rear you can go with anything but the driver and passanger is 35% per missouri law. i got pulled over and had a cop test mine and said that it was illegal, but he didnt give me a ticket on it at all. majority of the time the cops dont care b.c its an equipment violation and cant make the city/county any money.

Rear window can be as dark as you want but the front driver and passenger have to be at least 35%. A friend who does window tint says they are cracking down now on it.
The owner of the shop actually got a visit from the locals about it. So they're being more careful about how they tint now. Have to remember it's more of a safety issue for the officers. They need to be able to see inside the vehicle when approaching it.

Be carefull not to go to dark. I have 5% on the back window and can't see a thing at night with the top up. It does not effect me that much as a don't drive the car with the top up at night anyway.

On another note... It does a really nice job from shielding you when truck lights are pulling up behind you.

I have 2% on my car according to the officer friendly that pulled me over and ticketed me for it about 3 weeks ago.. It is a pain in the rear to drive at night time with the windows up, you have to roll the windows down to make turns and such. I want it off to be honest. I have nothing to hide.

35% is legal - you need a "note from your doctor" if you want to go higher - see MO Highway Patrol post

Bring you car over any time. It will only take about 15 minutes to clean them up for you. Or... Bring to Install day in March. I've got all of the remover and blades to do the job.
