Default aim pump

hey guys i already posted in "udner the hood forum on main page, but my air pump (smog pump) was determined by honda to need replacing with a cost of $900. i am told that this pump doesn't affect the engine, however, i need to pass the emissions test and can't without it. my car is an 2000 s2000 with 67,000. i really don't want to pay all this money, am trying to avoid it is much as possible, any suggestions??????

could i rig the sensor or anything, anyone know about all that stuff?? i'm in vinings.....

Aren't emissions related equipment under warranty for 5 or 6 years?
