WOW! I remember seeing that figure in another thread somewhere. $18K is a large figure but what was the MYS2000 valued at? Is that figure 80% of the value? (That's the rule-of-thumb is it not?) I figured that the damage estimate must have gone higher than 18K to total the car.

I think I had mentioned this before on another thread; Yellow IS the lightest by weight than Red. But with the Metallic flakes in the paint might be equal or heavier than RED. (I'm talking weight by pounds)

The new ride is MY2001 Spa Yellow #8272...no more used cars for a while. The estimated damage to #4242 was a bit over $18,000. It did have some frame damage, by the way. State farm is giving me pleny to pay of the old one and cover a good bit of the down payment on the new one. 
I am truely sad to see it go, but I think this is for the best. Besides, it's not like I can complain about what I am stuck driving with now.
