You can also overclock your ram to a higher speed. By doing so, you risk instability depending on the level of overclocking you're doing. You're also running the computer hotter. However, overclocking software is becoming more common with motherboard manufacturers like ASUS which include easy built in overclocking features. It's good for the gamer that wants the extreme edge.
