I might stop by and check it out?

Tom and Brian are out with the outer bank run! We were the trios that met you at the RA in Jan.

SMH,

Who organized this event? Is there an entry fee? I have never done a AutoX before and like to try to get a taste of it, can I jump in and give a SLOW spin??

Ted= Tuner's Field (right?)

it is actually a PCA event -- open to all -- For those who have never done a AutoX there is a AutoX school that morning -- The School starts SHARPLY at 10 Am -- the if you are not doing the School the walk through is at 11 and the first person out is at 1145 --

yes the Ted = Turner Field

Cost is 25 bucks

Thanks! For $25, I think I'll be there early Sunday and check out the school! I saw the last SCCA AutoX event, it looks like a lot of fun!

If you are in town, you should at least come by Turner Field on Sunday afternoon! (After lunch, and remember to bring your camera with you!) I heard there will be probably over 205 Porsches there! A lot of Super Cup cars too! At least that's what the regional President of PCA said this morning in the AutoX class.

The PCA autocross class was great! (There was no charge for the class, and they let me sit in with them) I enjoyed it! They have refreshments, donuts and even giving away stop watches and cameras; I just don't feel right taking them since I haven't signed up with the PCA. After talking with the president of PCA, I could join them anytime, because I have an old 914 sitting around. He told me as long I have a VIN# of the car (even it is on a roller chassis) I can join with them! he, he........... The class was short and simple but very informative! Plus some simple talks with the pylons and how they set up the gates, and ways to go through slalom, braking, hand position on the steering wheel, how to wrap your seatbelt to make it tight (So you won't be sliding around in your seat!)

I had a great time at the AutoX class! The Porsche people were very nice and friendly too! They are running a early drive session for the Porsche guys (School novice drivers) early Sunday morning! (8:00 AM) I'm just going to stop by and watch (This part is exclusive for the Porsche club members only, because they don't have enough instructors and time for others right before the event starts around 11:45 AM (registration is at 11:00 AM)
**It will cover some practice of skid pad sliding, slalom, and braking hard on the car (to see and feel the brakes and how their car can do and handle)

And it was great driving back from the class with a red Turbo! we were just follow and lead, swapping positions (not racing). The owner looked only about in his late twenies!

Will, I hope you guys can make it!

I just got a notice from the Family, there will be some family gathering (or plan) later on Sunday. So, I might just shown up and check the early driving class out and have to leave by noon! That means I'm going to miss the run (because my group **others and modified** is the last group to run!)

Bommer! The weather is going to be great for AutoX.
