Just got back from Charlotte Motor speedway which was probably the most fun and the most scary track ever
Ryan told me how masssive Nascar stadiums are but I could hardly believe when I got there. I took a few shots of the car on grid:
The Road Course is basically 3/4 of the Nascar track with an infield. Normally on RE-11 street tires pull about 1.1G peak on a good day - into Nascar 3-4 at 125MPH the datalogger read nearly 2G's combined!
Its realy insane tipping the car into a turn with the pedal on the floor in 5th when you know you would never make on a flat track Once you are locked into the turn you cannot lift or the rear starts to get loose you have to keep it to the floor.
Even moving up or down the bank is very scary. I tried to start up high and slowly come down and track out back up. However I was terrified and wanted to stay as far from the wall as possible so I mostly came down low and stayed there!
