Default First time in GA

So my fiancée and I help her aunt move into her son’s house in Duluth. My fiancée is driving her car and I am driving the aunt’s car. About 5 mins from her cousin’s house I get pulled over. I was like “wtf? I was doing the speed limit.” Turns out her aunt’s tag is expired from NOVEMBER. Huge wtf! So the cop cites me and gives me a mandatory court date. Questions for the locals:

1. On the back of the ticket it says I can sign and mail in to admit guilt and get charged a fine. (The latter part is an assumption.)

2. Anyone know a good lawyer if I cannot mail the ticket back signed and avoid having to drive back up?

BTW, I loved Georgia while I was there, even though I had no s2k. Lots of hills and the fiancée took me to mall of Georgia. She is a former resident so she was showing me around some of the back roads near Lawrenceville. Forgot the ticket at her cousin's house and am waiting for it to come via mail so I can call the number, but I wanted to see if any locals could give me some advice.

i would think that you wouldnt be held liable in court if the owner of the car went with you to your court date and admitted ownership.

the only bad thing is that with that type of ticket you have to shop to court. theres no getting out of that one bro. if you dont show they will issue a warrant for your arrest. GA is really bogus on that kind of stuff.

hope you get things figured out bro. let us know how it turns out.

have your aunt pay you the money, and you just send it in to them. you arent going to get out of it without being in court with her and even then maybe not. the ticket will have to be paid for either way. and they will put a warrant out for you if you dont pay...... trust me.

Paying isn't the issue. I'm just not sure if there is a loophole to the court thing. The court date is the day before my LASIK surgery too. Fantastic. =/ I appreciate the advice guys.

Just to those who get a ticket that has a court date, check if it will let you pay online. I confirmed it and I didn't have to go to court at all.
