$$638!! I'd tell them to go **** themselves and continue to drive on the temp tags. IMO living in the US isn't worth $638

ok, i've had a chance to calm down and think about it. That six hundred thirty eight dollars and no cents reflects past taxes dating back to when you bought the car and probably pays you current till next year sometime. (depending on your birthday) Mine is only $200 per year but that because i'm registered in Bryan co. not Chatham co..

What really sucks is that your paying six hundred thirty eight dollars and no cents in road tax and there's f-ing pot holes on the roads big enough for our little exotics to get stuck in.

Its because I bought it in florida and apparently even though their sales tax is 6% I only paid $800 something sales tax on it.

So to get their 7% Chatham county sales tax they claim back the $800 from Florida and hit me up for $600 :o/

I'll just keep it like it is till I can afford to sort it out.

not a bad move no, but here in the state of Ga. if you buy a car from a private party you don't have to pay sales tax on it.
