...finally. I had some real crap for a computer and finally couldn't take the stench any longer and made my wife by me a new one. Seems like a nice one. a Compaq Presario 6000, if anyone knows what that is.
Biggest news is we have a new locally designed and manufactured paint protection kit available that eliminates the area under the headlight that was left uncovered by the StonGard kit, and has only one seam under the grill area. I will see if I can figure this new box out and post a picture of Rick's install of the new kit.
Nice to hear you are back, let me know if you need another CPU as I get brand new laptops P4 1.8ghz-2.4ghz with DVD/CDR-W and mucho ram and hard drives.
Speed 2000 - what's up with this film protection for the front end? I read about it on another thread and it sounded like you had to be connected to get the film applied - only dealers, etc.
I checked out the info on your link and I see several places in Atlanta that apply it.
Do you have it on your car ? Do you like it? How much is it?
Gas2k, give dave a call. His number is on the Speedfilm website. He'll give you all the details.
Dave, I'm interested in seeing the new kit. If you need any help taking or posting pictures let me know I'll set up a meet with Rick and take some pictures of his car and post them for you.
Yes I can and due to the fact that some S 2000 owners had associated a crazing problem with the original StonGard headlight cover ( which I have had in place for nearly 3 years with no crazing ) I can now offer thicknesses of 80, 40, 15, and 8 mills. If you track the car, or do lots of drafting on the freeways, I would go with the thicker stuff. The thinner film will protect the lens from getting sandblasted and pitted, and 15 mil seems to be where most of the market is going. Since I have the most experience with the StonGard covers, I can say the 80 mil product holds up quite well...
