Default Milton Martin Update

Ok, after running errands all day with the top down (who WERE those freaks with the top up on all their convertibles?!?!?!), I ran by Milton Martin Honda.

I went in their to buy an oil filter and washer so that I can have genuine Honda Parts in my car. The total invoice with them was $5.67. When I went to the Honda dealership closest to me, they charged me $7.70 for the same thing. Not a big difference, BUT, if you get into big ticket parts then the difference is significant. And yes, I had mentioned I was in the Club. I don't know if this made a difference or not, I ASSUME it did.

I spoke to several service guys who were all extremely nice and all of them seem familiar with the S2K club (thanks to Dave, Kigershark and whoever else goes there I'm sure!) I asked for Curt Sloyer, the Service & Parts director and the service guys informed me he had to be in a meeting in Panama City. "It's a tough job, and we're thankful that he doesn't make US go" was the sarcastic response from the guys!

Then, I went into the sales department and spoke to cool sales guy, Casey Cash. I asked him if I could get some sales cards (I had already gotten the service cards) and he gave me a big stack. I HAVE NOW FIGURED OUT A PURPOSE FOR THE INSIDE SLOT OF THE STEREO DOOR ... MILTON MARTIN HONDA CARD HOLDER/DISPENSER!

Anyway, Casey was ALSO very enthusiastic about the club... again, probably due to Dave who spent some time up their recently and Casey said (and this was echoed by the service department) that they would LOVE to have our business ... for sales (naturally!), regular service, TSBs, etc. And (cool trivia) ... Casey used to work at Chateau Elan and when Road and Track was testing the S2K against other cars at Road Atlanta, he got to participate and drive our car ... so he KNOWS how cool they are first hand!

All in all it was a pleasant visit and I would encourage any of you near that location (it's on Hwy 365 in Gainesville) to go up, introduce yourself, and mention you're with the Atlanta Club. The more presence we show, and the willingness to work with them and send customers their way (since they ARE sponsoring us!) ... I think we'll have a fine alternative for those of you not happy with your purchasing dealership. And it DOES give us a nice voice ... power in numbers. In fact, it be nice to have a tech section on the Atlanta board where we can ask a service guy general service questions and have them respond (just an idea ... kind of like those home fixit radio programs ... general information, knowing that we'll take it to the dealership if we need to!) I KNOW from talking to them that they read this board every now and then.

Please let me know if you have any questions. And, Dave, thanks for the work you did with them to add them as our sponsor. I think this is a great -- and mutually beneficial -- relationship!

Sandy

p.s. I left at 1:30 and ATLJV's car was STILL there! I hope he was REALLY busy today ... 'cause I would DEFINITELY have been picking that thing up first thing and doing some top-down, break-in mileage driving today if I was him!

We are planning to do something with them. We will most likely make MMH a morning rally point before one of our runs.

f1 sandy, You could also put the cards in the "secret" compartment. I put a lot of stuff there.

I use the slots in the radio door for my XM Radio guide and misc. paper like dry cleaning receipts.
