S2000 vs. WRX?
This message is to Silvershow above. I am sorry I just couldn't resist responding to you since you are not a "a teenager" anymore. I am glad you live in Dunwoody because I do to. So...if I see that cute little "silverstreak" around I will be very happy. Trust me, oh wise one, I will make that $40,000 car look more like $40,000 civic. No disrespect here but you will have quite a lump in your throat after I wave bye, bye. I'll be looking for you. I will be the one in the silver wrx wagon. I am sure you won't find it as amusing as me when your little "streak" gets smoke by my little silver 4 door wagon. Until then, bye bye.

You and your "real thing" that "I can't afford" ......You sound like that guy in that comedy The Fast and the Furious. ....The Supra guy, "Whats the retail on that car?" The Ferrari guy, "more than you can afford..Ferrari." Substitute S2000 for the Ferrari and you've got the same thing here. One guy with a Napolean complex and the other guy with a faster car. Not sure who webdog is but if we are going to get into that stuff ( bringin' other people into fight our battles) I might mention that my big brother can beat up your big brother and my dad can beat up your dad. Tootaloo!
Ah, I see MrFlustered is showing his age now... be it mental or temperal...
OK, playtime's over kiddies... crawl back onto your wee WRX board... or can you guys afford one of those? Buh bye. Yep. Buh bye. See ya. Buh bye. Nite nite.

I usually have get together at my place at least once every 2 months to 1 a month. Check on the SE Forum on IClub under chuglobal and see my times. I don't have anything scheduled so far but something soon.
P.S. Who's acting childish now? MrBustered!

Wooh! guys! come down! Be cool, Both cars are nice for different tasks! I'm just a convertible guy; I used to own some of the strange, old little convertibles like the Fiat 850 spider, VW Karmann Ghia; I even like the Miatas. And I think S2000 is a great roaster for the price. The WRX certainly are fun and affordable and easily to get more power for less. I have few race friends are just stubborn; insist that a real sports car has to be front engine rear wheel drive???
Both cars are equally fast for it's small displacement. They are pretty close in 0-60 time, but they sure are different cars and drive differently. Just ask few of the S2000 owners who also owns the WRX! (Cortez and Bobg) I'm pretty sure they will tell you that they love both cars and both cars feel like different animals in them!
I was just surprise how little you have to do to make the WRX go a lot faster than stock! As for S2000, you are probably need to spend tons of money to make a difference; but who needs all that power. I think S2000 is great car for the track! And I prefer NA car on the track then a FI car! (It's just much smoother) So, I'm waiting for the STI to come out! (for the road)
I still think the "Driver" has a lot to do with it! I really don't trust the 0-60 time on paper (magazine) Personally, I have not seen anyone locally can put down 5.2 sec on the (stock) S2000 all the time without frying their clutch! I do believe the all-wheel drive (plus the 217 ft/lb comes in @ 4000 rpm) will have a better launch! But stock vs stock, S2000 will pull away at higher speed (because of the high rev VTEC engine). With mods. WRX will out run S2000 for less money! (remember, they can also put the juice (NOS) in the motor too!) Another point of view is I'm pretty sure the WRX will get better 0-60 in the rain and handles much better in the rain. (all-wheel drive just have better grips!)
Anyway, that's just my few cents! I still like the way S2000 drives. I'm learning how to control the car on the track now! It's lots of fun! Can't wait for the STI to come out, so I can take some Rally classes!
Wonder why we couldn't get the Peugeot 206 here in the US?? Those are fun rally cars!
Peace!
I would still like to see how MG supercharger will do!

Wait for the STI. Hopefully 280 Hp, but might be de-tuned around 260-275Hp for US version?? 6 speed!!!
and better suspension than the regular WRX! Hope they can also keep the price below $30,000 and keep the car light!
Oh! BTW, if Honda used all aluminum components for the body and the suspension on the S2000 and make it around 2000lbs or under. Then nobody will complain the car is Torque-LESS! It will be really like driving a 4 wheels motorcycle and a much better 0-60 time! But then, that will make the S2000 not very affordable!
Have you guys notice my avatar? It's the Acura's DN-X (Dual Notes) Hybrid Sports sedan. Prototype** 400 Hp and gets 41 MPG. V6 mid-ship engine like the NSX plus two electric motors at each front wheel and one large electric motor to drive the rear! Time to start to save money!
