I was wondering if anyone was from around there, or at least familiar with the area. I did some research, but I'd like some personal testimonials. So far, it looks completely different than anywhere I've ever been, so it's got me kinda scared to say the least. How are the people? The roads? Places to party? Where are some of the good hangouts, and basically, what all is there to do there? I'll also be looking for an apartment, or possibly a house if I can sell mine in a timely fasion. Where are the good places to live.....where are the places to avoid? I'm looking to get on with Gulfstream Aerospace, and that's located at the Savannah Airport.

I'm not too familiar, but I've been to visit alot on vacation. The old town Savannah is really nice. Definitely would be great to get a place there, but property prices are high b/c of the whole historic district stuff. I know there are a few shifty places to live around there, but the best you could do I guess is ask around to see where not to live.

River Street is definitely the party place. Everything happens there including one of the largest St. Patricks Day parties in the States. There's no open contaner law so you can buy drinks and walk down the street all night long going from bar to bar. Most of the street is candy stores and bars, so there's no shortage of party places. On bay street, you can find the nicer places to eat and night clubs. Hiphuggers is a good one if you happen to stop by. All of this stuff is on a 150 yard stretch of road, so if you just walk back and forth, you'll see everything.

There's a college close the the old town (SCAD), so there should be a good bit of renovated appartments close by. If you want to stay close to the airport, I'm not sure where is good since that is more inland.

Anyway, hope some of that helps.

 

im not from savannah either, but have been there several times. definately a humid area...which i hate, but other than that...its a cool historic town.

there is an art college/univ. in savannah so if your near that age group, there should be a good party/hang out areas as well as your mate.

i THINK BillyBlast (s2ki ID) is from savannah...PM him and see.

Sounds like you'll be working w/ my dad @ Gulfstream.

If you want a good place to live and stuff, I suggest you get an apartment on the Island..

The people are nice on the islands.... if you're not in the ghetto then it's all good (west side savannah)

dont live on the southside, the traffic is horrible in the afternoon until 7-8 oclock

islands is the place to be!

there are few s2ks on islands too... bjechols (brandon) and his roomate both have s2ks that live on the island apartment...they go to SCAD..

Nhan, what does your dad do at Gulfstream? Maybe he can help me out! They called me up adn said they wanted to set up an interview, and that was the last I heard from them....I dunno, I was lookig forward to working there too.

 

Im not from Savannah But work there I live in pooler close to the Airport; the best party like Nhan said is Downtown River/ Bay street my personall is Deja Groove; The Island is a nice area to live too. if you need more info PM, come on over we need more S2000's around here!!
