Visiting Atlanta:)
Hello from the Windy City!!
I'm a member from Chicago and will be visiting Atlanta in a few weeks with another fellow member from the California Bay Area. We will be staying around the I-285 and I-75 interchange (near Smyrna) from November 11-14, then at the Evergreen Resort in Stone Mountain from November 14-16.
We already know that we want to visit the aquarium, but that's about it so far, lol. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on things to do or places to eat. We both enjoy good ethnic food and would love to find some good places that are not the traditional touristy kinds of places. I know this request is kind of broad, but just curious if anyone has any recommendations. Also, will there be any meets going on that weekend?
Thanks for your help

I would highly recommend the Vortex for a place to eat in Atlanta which could be done on the day you go to the aquarium. I would do a lunch stop there. It is an unforgettable experience. Also on the aquarium day i would recommend going to the World of Coke and you'll get to learn about the history of Coke and try all kinds of Coke products from around the world that you have never heard of! Some you will hate and others you will love. Thats the fun of trying the roughly 50 different kinds of soda. Hmmmm Also for a dinner spot in Atlanta would be a place called Shout which is an American seafood fusion type of place that is amazing.
I think that gets you a good start.
What brings you to Atlanta? Business... if so what do you do

Just an assumption from your screen name, you're in law school too? What are you interviewing for? Yeah the vortex is amazing. They have been on the travel channel a few times. They even have a burger that has krispy kream donuts for the bun! Crazy! Ummmmm picture.... I would say grant park area is beautiful and buckhead is very nice as well

might be serving your fine city one day
If you want to try food distinctive to Atlanta, then may I suggest trying some of the restaurants in the Virginia Highlands.
If you like fast, greasy, non healthy food, then may I suggest the Varsity by Georgia Tech.
If you wanna try to snap some good pictures, then you can try Atlantic Station at night. The lighting bouncing off the buildings at night can make some interesting shots.
Since you guys are coming on the 11th, you just miss the Thursday night meet on the 10th. Also, if you are planning to stay past the 16th, there is a meet on the 19th.
