Default Wireless Phone Coverage

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a cell phone but was wondering which service provider had the best coverage in GA? Did anyone not have service on previous mountain drives in GA, TN, NC?

Motorola employees get a small (tiny) discount from the following providers:

AT&T
Verizon
Sprint
Nextel
Cingular

Which one is good?

You forgot Voice Stream! I have them but on club drives to Helen you will be out of network and no signal. Check out their coverage, It's pretty impressive. With packages of 500/anytime min. and 2000-3000/Weekend min. for 39.99 you can't beat that.

I have ATT service. It is terrible in the mountains. The only reason I use ATT is that it is the service my company pays for.

Sprint SUCK BALLS! My wife would get dead spots in the middle of ATL and I-285.

Given that they all peg the "it sucks" meter. I would go for the cheapest plan that fits your needs. It has been I while since I checked, but Sprint used to have some aggessively priced programs.

But, since they all suck, you are going to experience dropouts all over the city and in parts of the North Georgia mountains they are useless.

I have cingular and have been happy with the service. I was on the phone when we were up at Brasstown Bald taking pictures. I've heard alot of bad things about AT&T, Sprint and especailly Verizon.

All phone get disconnected if they don't have enough service towers available.

How much do you want to spend per month?

VoiceStream the bang for the buck....
