I just got off the phone with Keith and our board will be back up in a few days. They moved the facility witout letting him know and so he has to go to the new facility to bring the server backup. He said sorry and that it will be back up soon. So, do not worry we will have our board back soon.

I think that the reason is valid and chances of this happening again seem to be small. Keith has already said that he has made sure that next time a scheduled outage is going to happen that he would be notified and that we would also be told too.

Hey guys, I talked to my Dad today about the board.....and he said he could host it. He would charge something monthly though. Not sure how much it runs but in worst case I guess, it's an option. Anyways, hope its up soon. Later, Brandon

I know we're not paying anthing for web hosting but it would have been nice to have been notified prior to the outage. Even now it would be nice to know when the server will be back up and running our board, but so far no info.

I agree that free is good, however, since our dues aren't being used for anything else it might as well go toward a commercial service if our free service continues to give the club this level of service.

The board is the one thing that benefits all members equally so putting money toward its upkeep seems like a positive use.

I think Keith is going to need help reconfiguring the network for the new data center. Wanna give him a hand? It might help bring the site up quicker!

Remember the old saying, if you are not part of the solution, then you might be part of the problem!

PS> Dave, Can you do some research and determine the cost? Do you know how much free bandwidth we are using now, and how much that will cost us to replace with a paid service? I think the last time you brought this up, we all determined that it was way to expensive.

Call me crazy, but the cost / benefit just does not seem to be there!

Specially since we have a working backup system here on this board. (PS> this one is free as well!)

Just so that I don't come across as "totally bitter" on this subject, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Keith for his time and effort on working / maintaining the site that we all appearantly miss so much! I think it is the LEAST we can do to help!
