Don't get me wrong, I'm not against guests or anything nor do I think everyone should be forced to pay, but to say that it disappoints you doesn't make much sense cuz you should look at it from a business person's perspective.

s2ki makes money of MEMBERS... and though advertisements.. but when it comes to advertisements do it the way they've been doing with banners at the top and bottom... don't bombard the threads with banners between posts... (it's a little overdone..)

Bottom line is you have 2 options:
1) Pay and become a member to get rid of the annoyances (yea yea I know its not worth it for you, no reason to get into the same thing you say all the time about you having your own server and everything)
2) Leave the site if the ads and other things are that annoying...
There is no reason for you to be disappointed and suffer mental anguish over some ads or changes to a website created by someone else...
Oh wait, there's also bonus option #3 for you... start your own board like you wanted lol.

the only benefit to being a member on s2ki is being able to host pics and being able to put stuff up for sale in the "for sale forum" and having a nice little badge that says member instead of guest.... 
and you don't get to see advertisements... big deal....
i'm not disagreeing about the advertisements, i'm disagreeing about how it's being done...
and yes i could do my own forum.. but i can tell you one thing.. it won't be about cars....
