Insurance is going to cover it.

Now I just have to get an estimate... Deal with the body shop... Deal with the rental car... :blah: :blah: :blah:

I SO do not have time for this. :cursing:

I thought you 2 had like 4 cars...

Jeep uses too much gas. Miata is too small. Bobbie drives the WRX.

Honestly, I could make the Miata work but I have rental coverage on my policy so.
Bobbie wouldn't drive her Miata for a week?
That would be the part of "making the Miata work," sir. :stick:
That car is so small & you're so big - just cut a hole in the floor & get all Flinstone's up in dat. Do work, Fred.

Not really sure what happened. I was pulling away from a traffic light in moderate traffic. We had not gotten moving more than 35 / 40 miles an hour. Whatever it was that hit me did not come from ahead. Might have come from opposing traffic but I don't think so (wrong side of the car). Best guess is a tree limb came strait down. It was dark and a lot of rain so viability was poor.

Damage appears to be confined to the fender - headlight okay, door okay, hood okay. Even the side marker survived unscathed. Mechanically fine.

All and all could have been much worse. Mostly just scared the crap out of me. If I had been going any faster, who knows. :feint:

Damn that sucks. Looks better than the 2012 VW that slammed into the back of my truck on 95 Wednesday, hoping they don't total my old truck.

I have to say that I am very disappointed I didn't get the obligatory "that'll buff out" comment. :(

Nobody hurt. Stopped in the left lane due to construction and looked in the rear view mirror and I saw it coming in time to stand on the brake with both feet to keep from getting driven into the car in front of me. Drove me about 5 feet forward and stopped just before hitting the car in front of me. VW was totaled and the airbag saved the girl from being hurt although she was pretty shaken up. Had to wait for the cops to get there and block traffic on the shoulder so I could move us both to the side of the road since her car was stuck to my truck. Finally got it loose with the help of the tow truck that came for her car and I drove on home with a bent up truck. I will be pissed if they total it since I just replaced all the brake lines, brakes, exhaust and a tune up including a couple of coil packs.

Morning, man am I sore this morning. Moving my brother on saturday, then pulling the engine on sunday = pain on Monday.

speed_bump 08-12-2013 06:32 AM

I saw those pics of the engine pull on Facebook, I'd say I would have come down to help had I known but I was busy pulling the basement patio door and putting in a new one with a little help from my wife. I was sore as shit by the end of the day but popped a muscle relaxer and aleve last night and all is good this morning. Well except for a little twinge in my thigh from where I did the splits when I was unloading the heavy ass door from the truck my myself and it swung/tilted on me and I did the splits while keeping it from crashing into concrete and breaking.

It was miserable. But, in Jim's defense, his garage isn't really big enough to have a car and three sweaty guys all inside. It would be more fair to say that we did the work in his driveway. The car is actually in the garage but the door shuts just in front of the nose so any engine work pretty much involves standing in the driveway.

This. Also it wasn't that hot out unless you were working on moving heavy things direct sunlight.

I kicked around the idea before Aaron laid claim to it but decided that putting an AP1 into an AP2 had the potential to cause too many issues. Besides mine actually still runs pretty good for having 254k on the clock.

Better pick up an AP2 longblock from Honda while you still can. Clock is ticking.
