There's a tile that looks like wood, too. (But it doesn't try too hard.) It looks pretty decent.

f@#k that sucks man.. ya I'm a big believer in no hardwood in bathrooms/kitchens because of possible water damage. Appliances are just made like shit these days. The water drain for the fridge got clogged a month ago and it leaked water.. I can only imagine the damn valve getting stuck open..
If you like the wood look, the 6x24" tiles are the way to go imo, or even just laminate.

I will agree with that, though. I have sacrificed more than a few things to slippery hands. Tile is also rough on the feet if you spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Bobbie picked up one of those gel mats to work over while she is baking. It works but it takes up a lot of the floor and I am forever tripping over it.

On the flipside I'd rather have a broken plate/whatever than a chipped floor. My mom has a chip in her HW floor in the kitchen due to a dropped knife/utensil. Sh*t happens. To each their own.. I'm just wary of leaky appliances. Wood is sensitive to moisture.. if it gets soaked, odds are that when it dries it's gonna bow/buckle.

It is kind of like finding out that the d-bag you sold your well cared for car turned around and totaled it. Sometimes it is just better not to know.
