it might have been that the 200 amps fried any kind of build up on the solinoid. I'm still thinking about replacing the starter just to be safe. the thing i dont understand is that everything under the hood has been replaced. I shouldnt be having these types of problems.

That is actually a pretty good theory. That much amperage may have been able to get past the resistance from all the crud. Unfortunately, it wouldn't have baked it off or anything like that.

I would just start tearing into the various parts and clean them up very carefully. While you are at it, see what you can do to prevent the buildup. I have this can of a sort of red dye/paint that is supposed to be good for battery terminals. I have no idea what it is but the stuff really works. IIRC, I got it from Autozone. Get your hands on some of that and go to town!
