Apparently my bosses daughter told my new boss that she wasn't sure I would stay after the takeover. I've had 4 of the 5 top people in a fortune 500 people calling me while they are on vacation to reassure me on my position in the new merged company.

for the ego at the very least.

Right now, we have some litigation going on in my company over an alleged injury resulting from a friendly game of '500' with a foam football..

NO! Do not send him a dime until there is absolute resolution with the credit card company! When you file a chargeback, he has the oppurtunity to prove his case. If the CC company rules in his favor, you end up getting charged again down the road. Then, he gets paid twice.

Discuss this with the credit card company prior to making any decision!!
