So i was curious and looked it up - thought i'd share
Sleet - Sleet is snow that melts in the sky - and refreezes before it hits the ground, as an ice pellet.
Freezing rain - snow that melts in the sky and does not refreeze... until it comes in contact with ground (whose temp is below freezing).
