I shouldn't have ed at Bill yesterday for slipping and falling on ice. I fell today, wasn't as violent as Bill's fall, no head hitting the ground, but slipped and sat on my a$$
Wow, sorry to hear about both of you.

At my father's viewing, I dropped the family off at the door and proceeded to park the car. Family has early viewing and we were the only ones there. The weather was very cold/snowy/icy that january in northeast Ohio. Got out of the car and shut the door. Just as in a cartoon sequence, up went my feet. Back meets pavement. Wind knocked out of me, I tell myself not to panic and to breathe slowly. Then I realize that I'm all alone. even if I could ask for help, noone would hear me. At that moment I start laughing inside thinking about if someone did see this they'd be rolling on the floor. End result, cracked rib and getting frowned upon by extended family members because after the viewing I went to the Urgent Care and wasn't immediately available at the dinner afterwards.

Be careful!

You tend to cite examples of members/guest you deem irritating or stupid & they rarely are here in HAW - yet you say you don't venture out as the "dumb" is greater...

My ice adventure involves my truck and a parking garage. Went to a happy hour in Arlington yesterday. Street parking there sucks so I head to the new, large garage. The sign says "Height limit 6' 5".

My truck is 6' 4.25" according the owners manual.

Parking is only $1.

But I might not fit.

But only $1!

So I drive in. I park in a space right near the entrance and although my antenna bounces off the ceiling one time I appear fine.

The downside is that I have to drive around a bit to exit and pay my $1.

I drive under the silly low ceiling, fingers cross and then hear the dreaded "scraaaaaaaaap" noise. Twice!

I get home and can't sleep most of the night because I am imagining the size of the scraps I will find on the roof in the morning. My imagination has the damage getting larger and larger until I am lying in bed thinking about a dent roof with crushed paint and undercoating

I think about getting up with a flashlight and going out to look at the damage but figure what the hell, it will not be any different in the morning so why bother?

I lie there thinking these thoughts for hours until I finally drift of to a troubled sleep at about 3-4AM.

I get up this morning and go out to see the carnage and what do I find?

NO damage at all. But there is a pile of ice in the bed that must have been knocked off the roof by the garage ceiling.

That is why I changed(:skip:'d) your "HAW" to "Mid-A" in my first response. There is enough dumb in there to suffice.
