Skip... As to what you were suggesting about the cable box remote...
It has several unusual functions on it because of the DVR functionality of the box. I suppose one of the harmony remotes would work but that is a lot of money to me for just a remote.
I should have qualified my "stuck with it" comment. I suppose it is technologically possible to be un-stuck with it but it just isn't in the budget.
