I don't think this forum and my comments in it are properly conveying my point. I'm sorry that you misunderstood me.

My advice: never trust a recruiter. They can promise you the world. They can give you the odds you're looking for. They can say you'll get a certain job. Fact is, that can't do ish. Once you're trained as an officer, you will use you at their discretion, not yours. Just because a person's degree is in electrical engineering doesn't mean they will be slotted into that MOS. An officer is a leader. By that measure, being technically proficient isn't a requirement.

That is why I am hoping to speak with this dude in PA. I am hoping he will be more honest. I do not trust these guys in Martinsburg.

Yea... I know. This is the challenging part of my decision. I'm not afraid of getting shot at but the thought of being away from home for years really, really scares the crap out of me.
And what I meant earlier with regards to you and Bobbie was that you talk about moving, is Bobbie willing to quit her job, relocate, and look for new employment?

You are not ready to work for Uncle Sam then.
You have to be ready to be ripped from your home and put wherever you are needed. You have no "home" while you are active duty. And Bobbie, if she moves with you, every time you move, will have a hard time building a career. Unless, she is of course, working in the military.
