I think LP2 is pretty win. Hard to get used to but once you do, it is TONS of fun.
4 player COOP is the shizzzzznet!

1 can be had for cheap now
1 introduces you to the story, etc.
con's
1 is single player
pro's
2 is has a co-op option
con's
2 assumes you know what is going on, however, Jeff seemed to be able to jump right in without getting too overwhelmed.
2 ain't so cheap right now
