I feel like one of those old dogs you see wandering around. You know what I mean... One of those dogs that has limp and can't really run anymore. The ones you feel sorry for and thing "My God, someone needs to just put him down."

I should have stayed in bed.... I feel like hell.
So you want me to put you down?

It is hard for me not to get my hopes up but I know this is nowhere near a guarantee of a new job but it is the closest I have gotten yet. I have a lot of good skills that I know are in demand but I am REALLY bad at marketing myself. I think LinkedIn is/was able to help me with that part.

I have never gotten a job before from unsolicited contact. Literally every position I have had has been because I knew someone or someone referred me. Sites like Monster and CareerBuilder make it almost impossible to distinguish yourself from the next guy. It takes that one reference to get your foot in the door. That is where I tend to shine. I think I look like everybody else on paper but once I get the change to talk to someone I can really wow them.

At least, I hope...
every job i had over the short years has been from a reference or a friend. i use monster and carerbuilder to get practice interviews. where i will rehearse what i want to say for the real interview.

I have sent out literally HUNDREDS of resumes since the beginning of the year via Monster and CareerBuilder without even a single call back. Not one... I don't if I have not been applying for the right jobs or if there is something wrong with my resume or what but those sources aren't working.

I am going to a resume writing class tomorrow at Strayer that I am hoping will help. I even got a meeting with the head of career development afterwards to discuss specifically what I am doing wrong.

How can it possibly have ANY dents, you never drive it.

Is this damage from when the wheel fell off?
